1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and IKOALA INC ("we," "us," "our," or "Company"), the developer and publisher of the PageMarkdown browser extension. By installing or using PageMarkdown for Chrome, Edge, or Firefox ("Extension") or visiting pagemarkdown.com ("Website"), you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Extension or Website.

2. Description of Service

PageMarkdown converts web page content to Markdown and other formats. Core capture and export functionality operates within your browser and does not require an account. Optional Pro purchase, activation, and entitlement refresh require internet access, Google authentication, and Paddle purchase verification.

3. Free and Pro Services

PageMarkdown Pro is offered as a one-time USD $9.90 lifetime purchase. Pro unlocks the persistent Side Panel / Sidebar workspace, removes upgrade and donation prompts, and may include future Pro workflow enhancements. One purchase may be used on unlimited installations authenticated with the same verified Google email used for the Paddle purchase.

Pro access is provided through short-lived signed entitlements. PageMarkdown may suspend or revoke Pro access when Paddle records show a full refund, chargeback, or invalid purchase. A different Google email cannot automatically claim a purchase.

4. Use License

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use PageMarkdown for personal or commercial purposes. You may not:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Extension
  • Redistribute, sell, or sublicense the Extension
  • Use the Extension in any way that violates applicable laws
  • Attempt to circumvent any security measures in the Extension

5. User Content

You retain full ownership of all content you capture, convert, or process using PageMarkdown. We do not access, store, or transmit your content. All captured data remains on your device.

6. AI Features

PageMarkdown offers optional AI-powered features that require you to provide your own API key for an OpenAI-compatible service. You are solely responsible for:

  • Obtaining and maintaining valid API credentials
  • Any costs incurred through your use of AI API services
  • Compliance with the AI provider's terms of service
  • The content you submit to AI services

We are not responsible for AI-generated output quality, accuracy, or appropriateness.

7. Payments and Refunds

Pro payments are processed by Paddle as merchant of record. Taxes, receipts, billing details, and payment-method processing are governed by Paddle's applicable terms. Eligible refunds are described in our Refund Policy.

8. Intellectual Property

The PageMarkdown Extension, including its code, design, icons, and documentation, is the intellectual property of IKOALA INC. These Terms do not grant you any intellectual property rights beyond the use license described above.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

PageMarkdown is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that:

  • The Extension will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free
  • The results obtained from the Extension will be accurate or reliable
  • The quality of any content captured will meet your expectations

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PageMarkdown and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Extension or Website, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless PageMarkdown and its developers from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the Extension or violation of these Terms.

12. Modifications

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective when posted on this page. Continued use of the Extension after modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Termination

These Terms remain in effect while you use the Extension. You may terminate these Terms at any time by uninstalling the Extension. We may terminate these Terms if you violate any provision.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
